A Sheffield man with a long history of sex related crimes has again been arrested. Authorities say Mackenzie Patrick Riede, 33, broke into a Sheffield home Sunday night and attempted to rape a woman. The would-be victim managed to fight off Riede, who was later arrested for Burglary and Attempted Rape.

In 2009, Riede was arrested for using his mother’s credit card to call 900 sex lines, racking up around 300.00 in charges before being discovered. When police came to take Riede into custody, he ran to hide at a neighbors and managed to accumulate two more charges.

In between, Riede has amassed charges for burglary, public intoxication, failure to appear, and promoting prison contraband. He remains in the Colbert County Jail as of Wednesday night.
