K&S Deli sits on Alabama 99 near the Owens Community. The relatively lonely stretch of road provided the perfect setting for a robbery, or so one Athens woman thought. When an alarm sounded shortly after four o’clock on Saturday morning, the owner of K&S met officers at the store and reviewed the video.
Brandy Nicole Johnson, 22, was quickly ID’d as the person who had broken into the closed deli and taken almost $700.00 in cash. The owner stated Johnson had been recently employed in the deli. Police soon found Johnson driving on Elm Street in Athens with both the money and the hoodie she was seen wearing in the store video. She was released from Limestone County Jail on 2.5K bail later in the day.
