Kelley Louise Henderson Howard was 41 when she disappeared from Riverside, Alabama, on June 2, 2009. The St. Clair County woman had worked as a dental hygienist for Riverside Family Dentistry for six years. On June 1, she asked for a three day vacation, but Kelley’s husband has stated he was unaware of any such plans. Kelley reportedly left her office for lunch at around one o’clock on June 2nd. Her car remained in the parking lot, and she has not been heard from since.
Besides her husband of eight years who still lives in Pell City, Kelley has an adult son from a previous relationship. There were no signs of foul play, and her family is not considered to be involved. Kelley suffers from a rare blood disease which can cause occasional memory loss.
Kelley’s family and friends believe she encountered something at work that led to her disappearance. In February 2011, Dr. Rick Mitchell, for whom Kelley worked, was indicted for fraud, money laundering, and identity theft. Family members believe she is dead, but want both closure and justice.
At the time of Kelley’s disappearance, she stood 5″ 3″ tall and weighed 140 pounds. Her hair is light brown, but could be dyed lighter. Her eyes are brown.
