Sodexo has administered food services at the University of North Alabama for the past several years; however, the giant in campus food services failed to retain its contract, according to Cindy Conlon of UNA Business Services.
Sodexo had proposed several upgrades including a Mein Bowl, a Steak-n-Shake in the GUC, and a Moe’s Southwest Grill in the Student Recreation Center. Chartwells won the new contract with a promised Panda Express, Moe’s Southwest Grill and an updated Einstein’s in the Guillot University Center, and an artesian pizza and craft beer restaurant inside the Stone Lodge
The university turned down a Steak-n-Shake when locals have been salivating for one for years? Perhaps the moral is that for college students, beer beats a milk shake any time of the day?
