A former military parts dealer in Tennessee is facing a decades long prison sentence for illegally selling military equipment to foreign nations.
27-year-old John Roberts was convicted Thursday of selling more than one million dollars worth of rifle parts, body armor, and other equipment to buyers in China, Russia, and Mexico.
Prosecutors say soldiers from Fort Campbell, Kentucky brought Roberts truckloads of equipment, which was sold on the black market.
Roberts said he did not know the equipment was stolen.
He faces five years in prison on conspiracy charges, and 20 years for each count of wire fraud.
Seven others involved in the scheme have already pleaded guilty to theft charges.
