A 40 year old Tanner High consumer science teacher has been arrested for being drunk in her class. A school resource officer took Mae Gladys Underwood Edwards into custody in the early afternoon after some students complained that she was behaving oddly. The officer found an open bottle of alcohol by her desk. Edwards, who lives in Harvest, was arrested on two misdemeanor charges and taken to the Limestone County Jail where her bail is 1K. School authorities say she has taught at Tanner for less than one year.
