There will be a University of North Alabama student demonstration today at 5:30 beginning at Harrison Plaza and ending at the amphitheatre. Those attending are seeking to call attention to what they call a culture supportive of abuse on campus and continued cover-ups. Those participating will hand out copies of the university’s original statement on the Jane Doe rape case and buttons in support of the UNA co-ed.

Jane Doe is currently suing the university over what’s termed a cover up of her rape at the hands of a then university professor who had a history of abuse towards women. The professor, David Dickerson has never been arrested or prosecuted for the alleged crime.
