Shoals Crisis Center/Rape Response wish to thank all victims, families, volunteers, supporters, law enforcement, and local hospitals for turning to our center to help victims and families of this vicious crime.

It is with deep regret that we have been forced to stop responding to victims of sexual assault, due to no longer receiving funding through ADECA. Attempting to locate emergency funding, Governor Ivy’s office was contacted for assistance to continue providing funding in our six counties of service, but our plea was denied.

Now, victims and their families will have to travel to Huntsville. We are appealing this ruling to the Attorney Generals office. For now, we are researching options to continue our services to the community, which we have been providing for over twenty-five years.

If you would like to support our Center in continuing this effort, please donate to our Center or contact Governor Ivy’s or the Attorney Generals office.

Again, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives for the last twenty-five years.

Samatha Belville, Executive Director
