Skull Identified as That of Susie Rena Lanier

Authorities have announced a skull found in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, last Thursday is that of missing Susie Rena Lanier. No other body parts have been found, and the sheriff’s office has stated the terrain around the home where the skull was found is very rugged and difficult to search. Coroner Mack Wilemon has stated his office is hoping more of the skeletal remains are found by residents in the area. Lanier was reportedly last seen walking on County Road 255; her skull was found by a family dog at a residence on County Road 247.

Lanier’s mother, brother, and two sisters reside in Lauderdale County. Her siblings had been extremely active in the search for Lanier. She is also survived by two sons. PNS offers its sympathies to Ms. Lanier’s family.

July 14th Update: Ms. Lanier is still missing. According to her family, the 43 year old woman left without her purse or cell phone. Much of Ms. Lanier’s family resides in Lauderdale County and have reported to us that they consider her endangered. If you have any information, you may call the number below or 911.

Susie Rena Stevenson Lanier has been missing from Tishomingo County, Mississippi, since June 6th. She was last seen near the Colbert County line. Mrs. Lanier stands 5′ 5″ tall and weighs 115#.
