Birmingham, Ala.,- Runners are busy gathering friends and family for the 14th Annual Red Shoe Run, to be held January 27, 2018 in Homewood. Proceeds from the run benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) and its mission to keep families together when their child is sick or injured.
The Red Shoe Run offers options for any running goal including 10 mile, 5K and a family-friendly 1 mile courses. There is also a snoozer option for friends of the House who aren’t able to run in the race.
The event kicks off with packet pickup Wednesday, January 24 through Friday, January 25 at the Ronald McDonald House (1700 4th Avenue South, Birmingham). On Saturday, January 27, Rosewood Hall in Homewood will open at 6:30 a.m. for late registration, packet pickup and bag check services. The 10 mile run starts at 7:30 a.m.; the 5K at 8 a.m.; and the 1 mile run at 8:30 a.m. Runners are welcome to return to Rosewood Hall following their race to enjoy a party and awards! There will be food, face painting, music and more. RMHCA will recognize the top run finishers in various categories for each course as well as the top teams and individuals for their fundraising efforts for the charity.
