Prison Spotlight: Tommy Kevin Burleson

Update: Tommy Burleson, now 40, is serving his fifth prison sentence in the state system. He’s currently incarcerated at the Bullock Correctional Facility under medium custody. He was sentenced in Colbert, Marion, and Winston Counties to a total of 8 years. Burleson has no parole hearing scheduled; his end of sentence is August 2, 2019.

From June 2016:


Tommy Kevin Burleson, 39, was arrested in Colbert County on June 3rd and charged with drug trafficking, Burleson, whose last known address was in Brilliant, Alabama, has quite a record in this state.

  • February 2009 – Arrested in Marion County on unknown charges.

  • February 2014 – Arrested in Fayette as part of a three man theft ring that was active in four states. Burleson was apprehended hiding in a motel room and charged with possession of paraphernalia, first- degree manufacturing, two counts of second-degree receiving stolen property, and felon in possession of a forbidden firearm.

  • May 2016 – Arrested in Sheffield on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felon in possession of a gun.

Records from Jefferson County show that Burleson is currently wanted there for  THEFT 1/>2500 and BURGULARY 3/UNOCCUPIED BUILDING.
