(Ocean Springs, MS) – Known to many as a best kept secret getaway and to others as the art community home to the nationally acclaimed Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival, Ocean Springs has recently been named the “most beautiful town in Mississippi to visit”.
From travel to art, the online based Culture Trip site aims to tell the story of everywhere to help its 7 million readers discover the world and inspire those to explore.
In June, the site presented a list of 50 most beautiful towns to visit in each state, listing Ocean Springs as the most beautiful town in Mississippi, describing it due in part to its wildlife, history, culture, galleries, and quaint cafes.
“We are excited by this honor”, says Cynthia Sutton executive director of the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau. “With hundreds of thousands of visitors to our community each year, Ocean Springs is a creatively vibrant town to visit.”
Among other online awards, in February, Ocean Springs made the list of “10 Most Beautiful towns in Mississippi” by Culture Trip as well as one of “America’s Most Artistic Towns in America” by Expedia and one of the “13 Amazing Beach Towns You Can Actually Afford to Live In” by Thrilllist.com.
