TUSCUMBIA — James Matthew Wilcoxson passed away on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the age of 32. His visitation will be today from 1:30-3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rudy Guess and Alan Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Matthew was born on June 28, 1985, grew up in Tuscumbia and graduated from Deshler High School in 2003. He owned Lawn Xperts and was also employed by Alabama Painting Incorporated. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tuscumbia where he served in several capacities.
Matthew was one of the most fun loving persons you would ever meet. He had the best laugh and made others laugh. He was a positive influence on any group he found himself in. He was very kind and generous and would give of himself whenever there was need. Matthew loved.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer and two children, a stepdaughter, Anna Claire McCarley, and their daughter, Addisyn Grace; parents, Mark and Beth Wilcoxson; brother, Justin and his wife, Kelli and their children, Cole and Lacey. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Harold Shotts; mother-in- law, Sarah Mercer; an uncle, Alan (Lori) Beasley; and an aunt Susan (Jim) Beam; as well as several cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Mills, Robert Byrd III, Blair Davis, Ged Grimmitt, Wes Stovall, Evan Carter, Zach Woodis and Scott Dover.
