Don’t be surprised if you don’t see any new issues of local print magazine No’Ala. According to informed sources, the magazine’s owners closed shop some weeks ago without any fanfare.
No’Ala was founded almost ten years ago by Allen Tomlinson and David Sims, owners of a local advertising firm. The glossy ode to all things Shoals, and later Huntsville, was always a treat and every issue was highly anticipated. Yet all good things must end. Mr. Tomlinson, formerly of Martin Industries, moved to Portland, Oregon, where he’s employed as marketing director at the Knight Cancer Institute.
Perhaps No’Ala Studios can find a local buyer who would resurrect the magazine? We can hope.
