In addition to “The Phantom” premier,  audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the following traditional classics and new innovative pieces.  The performance opens with a show stopping Flamenco piece set on the company by Lily de Cordoba, currently of Italy, who has specialized in Spanish dance during her long career as dancer and choreographer. Next on the program, is the Pas de Tois from Swan Lake, arguably the world’s most popular ballet, performed to the famous Tchaicovsky score. This piece was staged by Rachel Butler and Abby Callahan.  A new work, danced to  the music of Camille Saint Saens has been choreographed by one of Huntsville Ballet’s new principal dancers, Filipe Aragao of Brazil.

Also, for this “Unplugged” performance, Artistic Director, Phillip Otto, has  choreographed another new piece appropriately entitled “Concerto” which will be accompanied by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto # 1 performed live. The guest pianist, Aimee Fincher is a doctoral candidate in Collaborative Music at Arizona State University and has just completed recording an album this summer.

Rounding out the show will be a contemporary piece choreographed to the music of Snow Patrol and Uneven Odds.  Gina Guerrera, who created this piece, is another new Huntsville Ballet addition who has relocated to Huntsville from Connecticut.  Ms Guerrera has studied and performed many genres of dance for over 20 years.
