TUSCUMBIA — Gilda Maria Stone, age 69, born June 5, 1948, passed away Jan. 7, 2018, in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
A memorial service will be today, 4 p.m., at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Stone; mother, Docia Lee Williams; and sister, Mercedes White.
Survivors include son, John Davis; daughters, Kristi Holland (Donnie Holbrook), Tanya Burnett, Tina Jones, Heather Newton and husband, Allen; son Brandon Stone and spouse, Amanda Flanagin; grandson Erric Holland; and granddaughters, Brittney Sheppard and husband, Cody, and Tessa Hall; eight great-grandchildren, Skyler and Abbey Poore, Layken and Tanner Shepperd, Levi and Noland Newton, and Javon and Terry; sisters, Vicky Kelsey and Margo Willingham; brother, Christopher Eric Wallace; many beloved nieces and nephews; and heartfelt friends.
Authorities say a 69 year old Tuscumbia woman died in an early morning house fire. The home off Frankfort Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, with Gilda Stout Stone trapped inside. Ms. Stone stated on social media that she had attended NWSCC and was retired. PNS will publish funeral arrangements when available.
