Drugs Delivered to Lawrence County Via Postal Service

On 1/9/2018, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Drug Investigation Division conducted an investigation concerning a quantity of drugs being delivered via the United States Postal Service.

As a result of the investigation, agents were able to intercept approximately ten pounds of marijuana and approximately 850 30mg Oxycodone (Roxie’s).

Demarcus Leandus Smith (39) of Florence, AL, was taken into custody for the seized drugs and charged with attempted possession of schedule II (Oxycodone) for resale, attempted possession of schedule VI (Marijuana) for resale, criminal conspiracy to possess schedule II (Oxycodone) for resale, and criminal conspiracy to possess schedule VI (Marijuana) for resale.

Smith is currently being held at the Lawrence County Detention Center with no bond.
