A Cherokee man left the scene of a fatal Leighton hit and run not once, but twice. Authorities say Jimmy O’Neal Waldrep died Saturday when he was stuck by a vehicle which promptly left the scene. The driver, 28 year old David Lee Borden, later decided to return to the scene of the 75 year old man’s death, but simply observed those attempting to help Waldrep and again left.

After telling his family about the incident, Borden decided to return again to Leighton and was taken into custody briefly. The case will be presented to an upcoming grand jury. Borden states on social media that he attended Cherokee High School and is a journeyman electrician.
